5 Reasons to Book Your Next Vacation Through Costco Travel
/I recently used Costco Travel to book flights, a rental car and a hotel for a week on the beautiful Hawaiian island of Kauai. I love Hawaii, but a week on the islands can be very spendy. By booking my vacation package through Costco I was able to stay at The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas on the very desirable north shore of Kauai and still keep within my budget. I couldn’t be happier with our Costco Travel package and here are 5 reasons why:
1. One Stop Convenience
I value convenience. Having to search for separate deals on air, car and hotels is a hassle to me. I fuss over finding the best deals and to be honest, booking online can be stressful. Setting up multiple accounts and choosing passwords and then wondering if I filled out all of the information correctly is not fun. With Costco Travel I was able to take care of my flights, rental car and hotel all at once with the confidence that Costco would stand behind my investment.
2. Saving Money is a Big Deal
I love to save money and I’m sure that you do too! I added up the costs of booking this trip separately through Alaska Airlines, Alamo and The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas, and with all of the perks that my Costco package included I saved approximately $477. Yes, I could have spent hours searching for special deals on my own with these companies, but why waste my time when Costco has already done the work of negotiating great deals for me?
3. Quality
We had a quality experience with Alaska Airline, Alamo and at The Westin Princeville. Everyone was super nice and took excellent care of us. They fully honored our Costco package and treated us like VIPs.
In addition, our room at The Westin Princeville was really nice. Our villa had many amenities including a full size refrigerator and freezer, a two burner electric stove, a microwave oven, a kitchen sink, a dishwasher, dishes, silverware, glasses and a blender for making frozen cocktails, a washer and a dryer, a spacious two headed shower and a separate soaker tub with jets.
The grounds were gorgeous with beautiful and immaculate gardens. This resort also had three really nice swimming pools and hot tubs, as well as a poolside bar, a convenience store, a fine restaurant and a very popular workout room. Parking was available at an additional daily fee, but our parking pass was also honored at the very upscale St. Regis Princeville resort just up the road.
4. Extra Perks
Our package included a $26 dollar per person (for 2 people) breakfast buffet each morning at our hotel, plus a $50 dining credit that could be used at The Westin Princeville's restaurant, poolside bar or convenience store (perks are subject to change). The breakfast buffet included a nice selection of hot and cold foods, pastries, cereals, fresh fruit, fruit juice, coffee and an omelette bar where they will make you an omelette with ingredients of your choice. We enjoyed dining on the covered patio where we had a view of the main swimming pool, the Koi fish pond and the variety of birds who love to entertain the breakfast crowd with their antics.
5. Locations
Costco Travel offers a variety of deals with hotels from Poipu on the south side of Kauai, to Princeville on the north shore. These packages also give you a wide variety of price options to match your budget. Kauai receives the most rainfall of any of the Hawaiian Islands. As a result it is very lush and green. That is why it is called the Garden Island. In addition, Princeville receives more rain than Poipu. This is why Poipu is popular during the rainy season and Princeville is popular during the dryer summer months.
As you can tell, I was very happy with my Costco Travel experience and I would not hesitate to use Costco again to book a future vacation. The convenience, the quality and the savings make this service a winner. Costco Travel also offers packages to other fine destinations around the world. Check out their website and see if they have a package that is perfect for your next trip. Let me know if you have any questions and best wishes planning your dream vacation!
Aloha,
Paul
P.S. - There is a Costco in the town of Lihue where you can save money on food and gas. We picked up a case of water, snacks and a pizza. The pizza was less than $11 and provided three meals for my daughter and me. Costco gas was also a bargain at $3.19 per gallon compared with the regular price of $3.75 per gallon at other stations. Next week I will provide a review of our trip on Kauai with insider tips along with dining reccomendations. Please click on the "Likes" button below if you enjoyed this article.
