What is the Pineal Gland - What Does it Do?

The pineal gland is somewhere between the size of a grain of rice and a small pea. It is also said to resemble the shape of a pinecone, from which its name was inspired. The pineal gland is also known as “the 3rd eye” and is thought to be the seat of our psychic abilities. It is located in the center of the midbrain by the thalamus.

What is the Function of the Pineal Gland

According to our current scientific understanding, the pineal gland’s primary function is to regulate our sleep and circadian cycles. It does this by producing the sleep hormone, melatonin. Our eyes transmit light information to this gland and at night time it secretes melatonin, which causes us to become sleepy. When the sun rises it stops secreting melatonin and we awaken as a result.

The Seat of Our Psychic Abilities

Have you ever thought of someone and then they call you out of the blue on the phone? This is a form of telepathy that most of us have experienced at one time or another. One thing that they don’t teach us in school is that we all have psychic abilities that we can tap into. Sadly, however, we are conditioned by our western culture to think that this is crazy. Eastern mystics have known of the psychic function of the pineal gland for thousands of years and now more and more people in the west are waking up to tap into the power of the pineal gland through meditation, yoga, good nutrition and a rise in consciousness.

Think and Grow Rich - The Sixth Sense

In Napoleon Hill’s famous book, Think And Grow Rich, he explored what he referred to as “Infinite Intelligence.” This is an invisible field of energy that physicists today often refer to as the “quantum field,” and others refer to it as God, the Universe and Source. In chapter 14 of this book, Hill wrote the following: “The SIXTH SENSE is that portion of the subconscious mind which has been referred to as the Creative Imagination. It has also been referred to as the "receiving set" through which ideas, plans, and thoughts flash into the mind. The "flashes" are sometimes called "hunches" or "inspirations."

The sixth sense defies description! It cannot be described to a person who has not mastered the other principles of this philosophy, because such a person has no knowledge, and no experience with which the sixth sense may be compared. Understanding of the sixth sense comes only by meditation through mind development from within. The sixth sense probably is the medium of contact between the finite mind of man and Infinite Intelligence, and for this reason, it is a mixture of both the mental and the spiritual.  It is believed to be the point at which the mind of man contacts the Universal Mind.”

For this book, Napoleon Hill interviewed over 500 of the most successful business people in America prior to 1937. What he discovered is that the majority of these elites understood this principle and used it to invent new products and new ways of doing business. Read this book and you will learn how people such as Henry Ford and Thomas Edison used their psychic abilities to innovate and create wealth.

Hill wrote about how our minds are like antennas and that we can receive and transmit information through the either. Many today believe that the pineal gland is the antenna via which we exercise these psychic powers.

The Calcification of the Pineal Gland

Most of us have been deprived of this hidden knowledge or been ridiculed for thinking that it is even possible to be psychic. Furthermore, many of us also have calcified pineal glands thanks to fluoride, chlorine and other toxins in our food and in our environment. A calcified pineal gland becomes compromised and as a result so do our psychic abilities. Imagine putting a shield around an antenna that blocks out the radio waves, or trying to make a cell phone call from a cement basement within a building that has lots of metal. It doesn’t work well does it?

Flouride

I grew up in a town that fluoridated its water and it wasn’t until recently that I became aware of the downside of fluoride. Now I am very careful to avoid fluoride in my water, at the dentist and in my toothpaste. I also meditate and try to eat a healthy diet. Since taking these steps my dreams have become more active and I have experienced telepathy more often with people who resonate with me.

6 Benefits of Having a Healthy Pineal Gland
